Berget is the first ever standard Helle model with Micarta handle scales. Small and sturdy, the Berget folding knife is based on the smallest module in our folding lineup. Its sturdy construction and scandi-grind makes it the perfect outdoor EDC – easy to carry in your pocket and a solid tool for your outdoor adventures.
The 55 mm blade in 12C27 steel has a traditional drop-point blade shape and a nail nick for ease of opening. The sturdy back lock and 2,7mm thick blade means that the knife feels and performs like a fixed blade when in a locked position.
The handle scales are made from Micarta, creating a durable and comfortable handle that is easy to maintain. The ever-so-slightly curved shape of the handle is reminiscent of Heileberget, the flat mountain range overlooking Helle’s home fjord of Dalsfjorden that also gives the model its name. The slim and slightly curved shape gives it a comfortable grip. The handle is held by screws and can be easily detached if in need of cleaning.

The little knife that could!
I went backpacking last month here in the mountains of the Northeast USA.
One of the main reasons I go is to make a fire and watch it while I decompress alone in the woods.
While on the trail I realized I left my sheath knife back in the Jeep.
Luckily I had my Berget in my pocket to make feathersticks so I was able to get a fire going despite everything being wet.
It did admirably despite being tiny.
It is a 3 finger knife regarding your grip.
Bagels were cut and peanut butter spread with no problem.
Cut some paracord to length for a cloths line as well.
At home does package open duty and helped trim some insulation off wire for me on a repair job on a lamp.
Trimmed up a buddies cigar as he left his cutter home.
So it does everything a pocket knife is supposed to do.
A fault of the Berget
does get lost in your pants pocket and is a bit thick for the watch pocket my Levis to get to comfortably so keep that in mind but that is also a strength as you will always have it with you.
I bought this to replace a Benchmade Dragonfly I lost.
The Mustard Micarta handle looks good and is grippy.
The edge stays sharp.
Great little blade but it is a pocket knife not a tacticool folder.
And it’s not lightweight as some knifes for the gram counters out there.
I am happy with this knife.
Recommend it for anyone looking for a daily chore pocketknife.
It is quite a handy little knife that disappears in your pocket until you’re ready to use it. It came very sharp, nice feel in the hand and easy to use notching wood, preparing a feather stick or just to widdle with. I may order another in a different color for back up. Thanks for another great knife.
