Nord (North) is more than a direction. It also represents strength, perseverance, darkness during winter and light during summer. The extreme shifts in nature between the seasons, the connection to nature and the effect it has on us for that same reason is how we at Helle see ourselves as a part of the culture of the north.
The Nord knife is developed to meet the demands of the Scandinavian Wilderness. Sprung out of our traditions as knife-makers and taken one step further than what is normally seen from us at Helle. This knife combines our history with how we have developed as a new outdoor generation. Sometimes using our tools differently than what our ancestors would have done.
With a 3,7 mm thick 14C28N blade and a sharp shine it will take on most challenges thrown at it. Still thin enough for cutting properties and strong enough for most tasks on your adventures.

Got this knife directly from you, the curved edge of the blade is flat with no edge at all. So do I now have to sharpen it? Very very disappointed for a 259 dollar knife, thought I was getting a great knife and it is less than good. Vince may
I recently purchased a Helle nord sleipner knife and I was very disappointed with the finish between the handle and the blade. There were high spots and low spots between the wood and blade. I had to grind the blade and sand the wood to bring them both into line to achieve a smooth finish. Just over two days later and with a lot of care and attention, I have a beautifully finished knife. Then after watching a review on Utube about the Helle nord where the Utuber was complaining about a gap between the handle and blade where dirt could collect. I had a closer look at mine and sure enough I have the same problem, which can be easily fixed with apoxy..... I just wish the people at Helle would be a bit more concerned about the finished product.
Excellent fit and finish. Heavy in just the right way. It will take abuse, but it’s just so nice to use. Feels elegant in the hand, even given its large size. Well done Helle. I should mention that I have many Helle knives, of all sizes. I live and work on a ranch in Wyoming. My favorite everyday knife is the Mandia - Les Stroud. The Nord is not an everyday knife, but it’s good at what it was designed for.
I have been carrying belt knives for 50 years.this sheath is perfect.the knife handle only sticks out an inch or 2.no more knife handle sticking me in the ribs or seat belt hanging up on the handle.and the knife is what I expected after I bought the wabakimi.feels light and well balanced.rock solid and dangerous sharp.and if for some reason you felt the need to baton your knife through a log.i have no doubt this knife would do it.personally I use an axe.
Everyone digs it
